Building Our Future
We believe winter guard is more than performance...
it's passion, expression, and community.
As a newly founded organization, we are building a team where performers of all backgrounds can challenge themselves, grow together, and create something meaningful both on and off the floor.
We are excited to begin this journey and shape a program driven by dedication, creativity, and heart.

The Director

Brando Law
Brando is the founder of Holy City Independent. He has been involved in the marching arts since sixth grade and began spinning as a junior in high school. Over the years, he has gained experience performing and teaching with all pieces of equipment, including flag, rifle, and saber, with flag and saber being his specialties. He also spent four years teaching at Cane Bay High School, which remains one of the most rewarding highlights of his career. What he loves most about guard is the passion, creativity, and family atmosphere that the activity creates. Watching students grow not only as performers, but also as confident and respectful individuals, is what inspires him every day. He also enjoys seeing the incredible talent and artistry from groups across the country that continue to push the activity forward. HIs goal for Holy City Independent is to create a safe and supportive home where members can receive strong education both inside and outside of the sport. He wants every performer to leave with valuable life skills, leadership, responsibility, and respect for themselves and others. Outside of guard, a fun fact about him is that he loves dinosaurs and crocodiles.
